A Family Poet

Apparently, Arrington Wakefield had a wife who was also very interesting. Check out the gem below, discovered by Chuckie Blaney, and excerpted from The Connecticut River Valley, Historical Sketches.

The information in these Historical Sketches, on Arrington’s rank, and the company he served with when mustered out, does not jibe with information from http://www.vermontcivilwar.org/index.php. Information on that site indicates he was a 2nd Lt. in Company I, but was later promoted to 1st Lt. in Company C, a few months before the 3rd Infantry Regt. was mustered out at the end of the Civil War. I will look further into this discrepancy.

I found the book, Over the River and Other Poems, on the Barnes and Noble website; where, I ordered a hardcover copy. It will be a prized member of the growing collection of family books and records.
