We see here, grandchildren of Mary Jane (Burdick) and Chadiah Arnold. Back row: L to R: Eleanor’s grandfather, Lewis Chadiah Phillips with his brother, Barnum Brazee Phillips. |
Front row: L to R:
Alice Elma (Phillips) Hinrichsen; Ella Jerusha (Phillips) Wilkinson. In Eleanor’s own
words, “The picture was taken at the home of my great-aunt Alice (Phillips)
Hinrichsen and her husband, Herbert. Fortunately, the picture was dated
Sept. 14, 1943. Their house and farm was located on Howland Hill in the Town of Lisle, Broome County, NY. Howland Hill had been settled by Warren Howland's ancestors. Warren was Mary Jane (Burdick)'s first husband and I believe Mary Jane's daughter, Elma Arnold, was born there, too.” |
