Clan Descendants of Robert Burdick of Rhode Island

The information in this family tree was compiled from many sources. That for the first nine generations came from The Descendants of Robert Burdick of Rhode Island, Nellie Willard Johnson, Pd. B., 1937. This mammoth tome is available in reprint from Higginson Book Co., 148 Washington St., P.O. Box 778, Salem, MA 01970. Several copies are available within the Clan. Some information from later generations was compiled with the help of Lori Stomps, Jackie Sparks, and other individual Clan members.

Much information about the Clan and the connection of later generation Burdicks with the Burdick Book is the work of Chuckie Blaney, mother of Megan Blaney and maternal grandmother of Caitlin Blaney. It is a fact that without her incredible amount of research, this family tree would have been very short indeed. In addition to information on agnate Burdicks, Chuckie compiled information on families enate to various Burdicks as well. The Clan owes Chuckie an enormous debt of gratitude for pursuing the family history so diligently.

The following tree has been abbreviated in some respects. Short-term marriages and short-term relationships were omitted from the tree when there was no issue from the union or relationship. These items are recorded in a more refined tree available to Clan members from the work of Chuckie Blaney. Tree branches were not pursued in many cases, although, thanks to Chuckie Blaney, some of these enate branches will appear on this site. Exact dates and places of births, deaths, marriages, divorces, etc., although known in many cases, are maintained in a separate, more complete, record.

The numbers preceding names indicates the generation from Robert Burdick of Rhode Island. A page number following a name indicates where reference is made to the individual in Nellie Johnson's book. Spouses are indicated by + with * preceding a brief description of the order of the marriage or description of the relationship.
